HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac softball team dropped two games in a home doubleheader against the Canisius Golden Griffs. Game one was close as the teams battles back-and-forth through seven innings, but the Griffs came away with the 4-1 win. Canisius won game two, 13-1. Sophomore Katherine Rodriguez and senior Kayla Jensen both hit home runs on the day.
The Bobcats move to 7-19 overall, and the Griffs improve to 14-9 on the season.
Highlights Game 1 (L, 1-4):
Sixth Inning - The Bobcat scored in the bottom of the sixth inning off a homer by sophomore Katherine Rodriguez.
Canisius would tally runs in the second and third innings and would go on to win the first game of the doubleheader, 4-1.
Notable Stats:
Third Inning - Senior Kayla Jensen hit a home run out to right field in the bottom of the third inning.
Canisius would score in the first, second and fourth inning to take a 13-1 lead through five innings, and the Griffs would earn the win in five innings.

Quinnipiac will face Canisius to finish the season series on Sunday, April 25 at home.
