Bobcats Take Fourth at Southern Connecticut State

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac track & field team took fourth at the James Barber Invitational at Southern Connecticut State University on Sunday, April 11. Southern took first place with 153 points, followed by Franklin Pierce in second with 100 points. The University of New Haven placed third with 93 points. The Bobcats tallied 85 points in fourth, and Monroe College and Post took sixth and seventh.

- In the 400m, Meaghan Scullin took first place with a time of 57.67.
- Sophomore Cassidy Phillips earned her first collegiate win in the 800m (2:28.42).
- Senior Ellie Songer tallied a first place finish in the 1500m with a time of 5:01.65. In second place, Danielle Marcone recorded a time of 5:06.39. In seventh, Samantha Leal tallied a time of 5:15.43, and Madeleine Shellard finished in ninth with a time of 5:25.37.
- In the discus throw, Laura Thomas finished in fourth with a 19.42m mark. Amanda Minervino took fifth with a 18.78m throw.
- Minervino finished in first place in the javelin with a 33.12m throw, and Thomas took second (31.86m).
- In the long jump, Zekiah Lewis finished in second place with a 5.20m mark. Senior Britney Del Mundo finished in sixth (5.03m).
- Graduate student Kelsey Coughlin finished in third in pole vault (2.90m).
- Lewis took third in the triple jump (10.80m).
- The Bobcats will compete at the UMass Multi-Meet on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 13-14.
