Mazzola Wins MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's soccer goalkeeper Jared Mazzola has been named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday, March 23.
Mazzola recorded two shutouts for the Bobcats in a pair of wins last week. He made six combined saves, posting a clean sheet against Fairfield (March 18) and Niagara (March 21). The senior keeper made three saves in each contest.
He now has nine career clean sheets, earning five shutouts in 2018 and three in 2019. Mazzola is the first Quinnipiac player to capture a MAAC weekly award this year.
Mazzola and the Bobcats are back in action on Thursday, March 25, hosting Siena at the QU Soccer Stadium in Hamden (2:30 PM).
