Peralta Ties for First; Ybarra, Lillibridge Finish Top 10

HEBRON, Conn. - Leeyen Peralta posted an even-par 72 to earn a first-place finish at Monday's Hartford/Blackledge Invitational at Blackledge CC in Hebron, Conn. Quinnipiac earned first place in the event with a team score of 314 (+26).

Captain Elena Ybarra, Darby Lillibridge (individual golfer) and Mia Grzywinski all placed inside the top 15 on the day.

SCORES AND NOTES

Peralta earned a first-place finish with a 72 (E) in the round. The sophomore birdied four holes and played her first ten holes of the day at -3.
Ybarra nearly matched Peralta's round, as the senior birdied her last two holes to finish at +1 on the day. Besides a quadruple bogey on the 15th hole, the senior captain was a career-best -3 in the rest of her round.
Mia Gryzwinski stepped into the official five-golfer lineup for the first time as a Bobcat and shot a 9-over, 81, which was good enough for a T-11 finish. The sophomore had three birdies and eight pars on her scorecard in the season opener.
Junior Amanda Tully and senior captain Elena Lopez finished one stroke apart on the leaderboard. Lopez tied for 23rd with a 16-over round (88) and Tully was one shot back in a tie for 26th (+17, 89)
Junior Darby Lillibridge competed as an individual golfer and earned a T-10 finish, posting an 80 (+8) in the round. First year Emily Luu also competed individually in her first collegiate event, shooting 94 (+22) and tying for 37th.

Quinnipiac will return to action on Friday when it competes in the Hartford/Wintonbury Invitational at Wintonbury Hills Golf Course in Bloomfield, Conn.
