HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team blanked the LIU Sharks on Saturday afternoon, 5-0. Junior forward Lexie Adzija led the team with three points on two goals and one assist, and first-year Catie Boudiette recorded her first career start and shutout in the net.

First-year Kendall Cooper scored her first career goal for the Bobcats, and senior Renee Saltness added two assists on Adzija's goals. The Bobcats outshot the Sharks, 51-14.

SCORING SUMMARY

(1:02, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, LIU 0: First-year Kendall Cooper scored her first career goal from the right point to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead.
(9:07, 1st period, PP) – Quinnipiac 2, LIU 0: Senior Taylor House sent the puck into the left side of the slot to find junior Lexie Adzija. Adzija sent a quick pass into sophomore Sadie Peart, who scored past LIU's Kenzie Harmison.
(10:31, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 3, LIU 0: Senior Renee Saltness sent a backwards pass to junior Lexie Adzija, who dangled past an LIU defender and scored a beautiful goal to give the Bobcats a 3-0 lead.
(15:31, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 4, LIU 0: Senior Taylor Girard secured the puck in the Bobcats' defensive zone off a turnover and skate alone on a breakaway and scored her second of the season.
(10:31, 3rd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 5, LIU 0: Adzija scored her second of the game after recovering the puck in the neutral zone, skating past an LIU defender and sending the puck past Harmison. Saltness tallied an assist on the play in the neutral zone.

NOTES

Adzija tallied three points in the win and now has four goals and four assists on the season for eight total points. The junior forward has recorded at least one point in all but one game this season.
Saltness tallied two assists in the win and leads the team with nine points this season.
First-year netminder Catie Boudiette recorded 14 saves and a shutout in her first career start.
First-year Kendall Cooper, sophomore Sadie Peart and senior Taylor Girard also scored in the 5-0 win.
The Bobcats outshot the Sharks, 51-14. Quinnipiac held LIU to two fewer shots than the first matchup between the teams.
Quinnipiac went 1-3 on the power play and was perfect on the penalty kill (0-3).
Adzija went 18-25 (72%) on the faceoff. As a team, the Bobcats went 51-68 (76%) inside the faceoff circle.
