Bobcats Dominate LIU in Record-Breaking Fashion

Quinnipiac takes down LIU in largest shutout victory in program history, 11-0
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team dominated the LIU Sharks in a historic 11-0 shutout on Sunday afternoon. The Bobcats' 11 goals tied the program record of goals scored in single game which was set on Nov. 28, 2009 against Sacred Heart. The 11-goal shutout victory was the largest shutout posted in program history.
Sixteen different Bobcats tallied at least one point in the win, which is a new program record.
Quinnipiac was just one goal shy of the NCAA record for most goals in a single period (8). The Bobcats netted seven in the second against the Sharks, and are just the ninth team in NCAA Women's Ice History that a team has scored seven goals in a period. Seven goals in one period is the new program recordl; Quinnipiac has scored six goals in one period two times before (Nov. 29, 2013 at RIT and Jan. 16, 2005 at Union).
The Bobcats recorded 70 shots on goal, which is also new program record. Quinnipiac also tied the previous record earlier this season, which was 68 shots on goal.
Senior Taylor Girard and junior Lexie Adzija both led the team with four points each. First-year Kendall Cooper had three points of her own on two goals and one assist.

- Villeneuve and Olivia Mobley tallied their first career points as Bobcats.
