Kohn Hits First Career Home Run, Scores Four Runs Against Keydets
Michael Kohn (Rockville, Maryland) drilled his first career home run in the first game of the doubleheader and doubled in the second game as well as scoring four runs for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats took the game's initial lead in game one of the doubleheader but the Keydets scored five runs in the first three innings. Kohn homered in the fifth inning to pull the Bobcats back within three but the Keydets got two back with a two-run home run in the bottom half of the inning.
In the top of the seventh inning, Evan Vulgamore (Bow, New Hampshire) drove home Kohn for his second run of the game but the Bobcats could not complete the comeback.
VMI scored eight runs over the first two innings to take a big lead on Quinnipiac but the Bobcats scored five runs over the next two innings to pull back within five runs of the Keydets.
Colin Donnelly (Flemington, New Jersey) came on to pitch in the fifth inning and did not allow and earned run over the final four innings of play, striking out six Keydets and allowing just four unearned runs on two hits.

FIRST INNING
- Vulgamore reached first on a wild pitch despite swinging at strike three before moving up to second on a walk to Ian Ostberg (Northampton, Massachusetts).
- Bender drilled a single to left field to score Vulgamore and Ostberg was thrown out trying to score from second base.
- Kohn lifted an opposite field home run to left centerfield to lead off the inning and pull within three runs.
- Kohn walked with one out in the inning and moved up to second on a walk to Danny Melnick (Hamilton, New Jersey) before Marrero singled o load the bases.
- Vulgamore brought home his first RBI of the day with a single to right field that score Kohn for third base.

THIRD INNING
- Maves reached on a bunt single to third base and moved up to second on a groundout.
- After a Vulgamore hit by pitch, Ostberg doubled down the left field line to score Maves and move Vulgamore up to third.
- With two outs in the inning, Lutz pulled a single to right centerfield to score both Vulgamore and Ostberg to pull within a five runs at 8-3
- Melnick singled to right field to lead off the inning and advanced to second on a groundout.
- He later came around to score as Kyle Maves (Burlington, Ontario) reached on a fielding error by the VMI second baseman.
- Maves stole second base and moved up to third on a groundout before scoring on a Vulgamore left field that made it 10-5.
- Kohn led off the inning with a walk and the Bobcats loaded the bases two batters later on a Braydon Seaburg (Straford, Connecticut) walk and Maves single.
- After a VMI pitching change, Kohn came home to score on an Andre Marrero (West Springfield, Massachusetts) RBI groundout
- Kohn reached on a fielder's choice that made two outs in the inning the Bobcats loaded the bases with back-to-back walks from Melnick and Seaburg.
- Maves ripped a single to centerfield to score Kohn and pull back within 14-7.
- Kohn reached base four times in Sunday's doubleheader, including his first career home run in game one of the doubleheader
- He scored two runs in each game, the second and third games of his career with two-plus runs in a game.
- Vulgamore extended his hitting streak to four games on the season as he singled, scored and drove in a run in each game of Sunday's doubleheader

- Maves recorded his fifth career three-hit game in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader as he doubled, scored two runs, drove one RBI and stole his first base of the season
- Donnelly pitched four innings in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader for the second-longest outing of his career and struck out a career-high six batters.
- He allowed just two hits and walked a batter while all four of his runs were unearned.
- Quinnipiac hits the road next weekend for a three-game series at No. 6/6 Mississippi State where the Bobcats will face the Bulldogs in a three-game series beginning Friday at 5 p.m. ET/4 p.m. CT with all three games airing on the SEC Network+.
