Moskey Homers, Drives in Five RBIs as Bobcats Come Back to Defeat Jaspers
Quinnipiac's championship game appearance is its first since winning the Northeast Conference Championship in 2005, where the Bobcats advanced to their only NCAA Division I Tournament.
The Bobcats also climbed above .500 for the first time this season, improving to 28-27. Quinnipiac is just one win away from tying its program record for wins in a season set in 2007 and repeated in 2016.
Moskey came up big for the Bobcats multiple times Saturday as he belted a key solo home run in the bottom of the third inning to tie the game, 3-3. Moskey pulled the Bobcats within one with a two-RBI double in the fifth inning before grounding a two-RBI single through the left side of the infield in the sixth to give the Bobcats the lead for good.
Colin Donnelly (Flemington, New Jersey) was stellar out of the bullpen for the Bobcats as he came on in the sixth inning to pitched three innings in the outing. He scattered two hits and struck out three Jaspers to earn his fifth win of the season.
The Bobcats trailed by three runs in the game multiple times but were unphased as they battled back each time before taking the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth inning.
