FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Quinnipiac softball team (11-22, 4-4 MAAC) lost two games in a doubleheader against the Fairfield Stags (17-13, 3-3 MAAC) on Sunday afternoon. The Stags won the first game, 9-3, and the second game, 4-1.
Game 1
First Inning - The Bobcats got the scoring started in the first after sophomore Brighid Douglas hit a single to send sophomore Kayla Jensen home.
Third Inning - With senior Erin Larsen on base, senior Rebecca Drake hit a single and Larsen advanced to third base. Douglas then hit a double to send Drake and Larsen home. The Bobcats took a 3-0 lead after the top of the third inning.
Highlights
The score stayed tied at 0-0 until the bottom of the third, and the Stags took a 2-0 lead.
Seventh Inning - The Bobcats tallied one run in the top of the seventh inning after Drake hit a double and freshman Alexis Otero hit a single to right field to send Drake home. The Stags would hold on to win the second game, 4-1.
Highlights
The Bobcats will have two days off before playing Sacred Heart on Wednesday, April 10 at 2:30 and 4:30 in Fairfield, Conn.
