Back-to-Back Homers Send Bobcats Past Pioneers, 8-6

Game 1
Fifth Inning - The Bobcats scored one run in the fifth inning to get on the board. With the bases loaded, sophomore Brighid Douglas was hit by a pitch and recorded an RBI as junior Megan Dyson scored. After the fifth, the Pioneers led the game, 5-1.
Sixth Inning - Quinnipiac scored three more runs to come within one run of the Pioneers. Freshman Bridget Nasir hit a double to get the Bobcats going in the sixth. Freshman Hannah Davis hit a single, and Nasir made it home to take the score to 5-2. Senior Erin Larsen then hit a homerun to send Davis home. Quinnipiac would end the inning one run behind Sacred Heart, 5-4. The Pioneers would hold on to win the first game, 5-4.
Highlights
- Davis went 2-3 with one run and one RBI.
- Larsen hit her second homerun of the season and went 1-1 in the first game.
- Freshman Brooklyn Maguire (1-4) pitched five innings with one strikeout.
Fourth Inning - Sacred Heart lead 5-0 until the fourth inning. Freshman Alexis Otero led off and doubled to right field. Davis followed with a single, and freshman Lo Yarnall then doubled to center field, allowing Otero and Davis to score. Nasir came up and hit a single, recording an RBI, and sent Yarnall home. Larsen then hit her second homerun of the day to send Nasir home. Douglas hit a homerun right after Larsen to give the Bobcats a 6-5 lead.
Sixth Inning - With the score tied 6-6, sophomore Kayla Jensen hit a single to lead off and then advanced to second after Nasir hit a sacrific bunt. Douglas and Drake were both walked on the next at-bats, loading the bases. Otero then singled to left and recorded two RBIs as Jensen and Douglas scored. Quinnipiac took the 8-6 lead and would hold on to win the second game against Sacred Heart.

- Larsen hit her second homer of the day and third on the season. She went 2-4 with two RBIs and one run.
- Douglas hit her second homerun of the season and went 1-3 with two runs and one RBI.
- Jensen went 3-5 with one run.
- Otero had two hits with two RBIs and one run.
- Senior Kendall Brundrett (5-14) got the win after pitching 3.1 innings with four strikeouts.
The Bobcats will host the Hartford Hawks in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. It is also the team's Pink Game!
