Women's Lacrosse Drops MAAC Contest vs. Niagara on Senior Day

HAMDEN, Conn. – Allison Kuhn led the way with three goals and one assist on Senior Day, as Quinnipiac women's lacrosse dropped a MAAC contest vs. Niagara, 15-14, at the QU Lacrosse Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Julia Corrice, Victoria Bobinski and Ashley Bobinski all added two scores for Quinnipiac.
With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 5-8 (2-3 MAAC) so far in 2019. Niagara scored seven of the last eight goals of the contest, outscoring Quinnipiac 11-3 in the second half.

HIGHLIGHTS
- The Bobcats recorded 22 of 31 total shots in the first half of action, taking an 11-3 lead in to the break.
- Niagara responded, however, as the Purple Eagles scored four straight goals over the first 10 minutes of the second half. Niagara then scored seven of the game's final eight goals, over the last 14:51, earning their first MAAC victory of the season.
- Graduate student Sami Walters made 14 saves, which ties a season-best mark. She made five stops in front of the cage in the first half, then nine stops in the second stanza.
- All three of Allison Kuhn's goals came in the first half, giving the senior 35 goals and 16 assists for 51 total points in 13 games.
- Megan Szawlowski added one goal and two helpers for three total points. She now has 3+ points in four straight contests.
- Julia Corrice added two scores and one assist for a season-best three points of her own. The fourth-year midfielder played in just her third contest of the season for the Bobcats.
- Victoria Bobinski and Ashley Bobinski each scored twice. Victoria now has 11 goals in 2019, while Ashley has eight.
- Cameron Parry added one goal and one assist, as the sophomore midfielder has four points this year.
- The Bobcats were outshot by the Purple Eagles, 36-31 in total, including an 29-26 advantage in the shots on goal.
- Quinnipiac went 19-of-23 in clear attempts, picking up 15 ground balls.
- Niagara won the draw control battle by a small margin (17-14).
- The Purple Eagles have now won the last six meeting between the two programs, dating back to 2014.
- The Bobcats return to action on Wednesday, April 10, hosting Siena at the QU Lacrosse Stadium in Hamden.
