Softball Drops Two against Iona

Game 1 - Highlights
- Freshman Lauren King gave up her first earned run in 14 innings pitched and moves to 8-7 overall on the season.
- Sophomore Kayla Jensen went 2-3 in the first game.
- Senior Erin Larsen went 2-2 and had four putouts and three assists.
- Seinor Kendall Brundrett came in to pitch the final four innings of the game, giving up zero runs and tallying four strikeouts.
First Inning - The Bobcats came out strong in the second game, scoring three runs. With Jensen on at first, Larsen singled to center field. Freshman Alexis Otero drove in an RBI after hitting a single to center field. Senior Rebecca Drake reached first on a fielder's choice. With Otero and Drake on second and third, sophomore Brighid Douglas tripled down the left line, recording two RBIs, as Drake and Otero both scored. Quinnipiac would go into the second inning with a 3-0 lead.
Second Inning – Quinnipiac added one more run in the second inning to increase its lead to 4-1. Freshman Hannah Davis sent a double to left center to led off the Bobcats in the second. Larsen hit tallied her second hit of the game with a triple to right center and drove an RBI as Davis scored.
Iona would score four runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-4 lead. The Gaels would add two more runs in the sixth to secure the second game victory.
Highlights
- Larsen went 3-4 with one RBI.
- Douglas drove in one RBI, going 1-3. She leads the team with 23 RBIs this season, which surpassed her 15 RBIs from her freshman year.
- Brundrett and King tallied eight strikeouts together in the 8-4 loss.
Quinnipiac will play the final non-conference game of the season against UConn on Tuesday, April 30 at 3 p.m., in Storrs, Conn.
