Men's Lacrosse Drops Tight Contest vs. Marist

HAMDEN – Quinnipiac men's lacrosse dropped a back-and-forth conference contest vs. Marist by the final score of 12-8 on Saturday afternoon at the QU Lacrosse Stadium.
With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 6-5 (3-2 MAAC) so far in 2019.
Senior Mike Fletcher (four goals) and sophomore Jake Tomsik (one goal, three assists) led the way for Quinnipiac with four points apiece. Freshman goalkeeper Nick DiMuccio had another impressive contest in front of the cage, making 16 total saves.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Marist led 3-2 after a low-scoring first half. The Bobcats then scored three straight times to begin the second half of action, taking a 5-3 lead.
- The Red Foxes would respond with four consecutive goals of their own, though, making it 7-5 Marist.
- Mike Fletcher scored to tie the contest with 11:29 left in the fourth period, then Marist went on a 4-0 run to finish the game.
- Total shots were 53-38 in favor of the Bobcats. Shots on goal were 28-25 in favor of the Red Foxes.
- Quinnipiac was 16-of-17 in clears, while Marist went 20-for-23.
- The Bobcats won 13 of 24 faceoffs in total.
- Nick DiMuccio recorded 16 total saves, just one shy of his season-best mark. DiMuccio has now recorded 10+ stops in 10 of 11 games.
- Mike Fletcher's four goals are his second-highest total of the season, as he scored five times on March 19 vs. Hartford. The senior now has 15 goals and seven assists in six contests.
- Jake Tomsik has now recorded 3 assists in three separate games this year. He has a team-best 46 points now in 11 games.
- Matt Frost added two goals of his own, giving him three goals and one assist for four total points.
- Tyler DeVito added one score, recording the Bobcats' lone goal in the second quarter of play.
- Demitri George went 12-for-17 in the face-off x, picking up a team-best eight ground balls.
- Quinnipiac is back in action on Saturday, April 20, hosting Monmouth at 4:00 p.m. on Senior Day.
