HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac women's hockey team returns to Hamden after nine games on the road. The Bobcats are set to take on #5 Clarkson and St. Lawrence, Feb. 1-2 at the People's United Center. Puck drop against the Golden Knights is at 6 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday against the Saints.
Scouting Clarkson
The Golden Knights are 20-5-1 overall with an 11-3-0 ECAC record. The #5 team in the nation is coming off a 2-0 weekend sweep of Harvard and Dartmouth, winning both games, 4-2. The Golden Knights will come to Hamden on a six-game win streak.
Senior Loren Gabel leads the Golden Knights with 49 points on 25 goals and 24 assists. Elizabeth Giguère has tallied 48 points for the Golden Knights and Michaela Pejzlová has recorded 42 points. Through conference play, Giguere is ranked second with 24 points in the ECAC.
Kassidy Sauvé has played in 22 games for the Golden Knights in the net. She has recorded a 17-4-1 record with a .930 save percentage and 1.76 GAA.
All-Time Against the Golden Knights
Quinnipiac is 11-22-4 against Clarkson and will play the Golden Knights for the first time in the 2018-19 season. Last year, the Bobcat lost, 2-0, to the then #1 overall Golden Knights.
Scouting St. Lawrence
The Saints are 12-11-3 overall and 7-5-2 in ECAC play. St. Lawrence is coming off a 1-0-1 weekend against Dartmouth and Harvard. The Saints defeated the Big Green, 3-2, and tied the Crimson, 0-0.
Justine Reyes leads the Saints with 20 points on six goals and 14 assits. Grace Harrison and Sonjia Shelly have split time in the net for the Saints. Harrison has posted an 8-4-2 record with a .933 save percentage and 1.89 GAA to lead the Saints' in the net.
All-Time Against the Saints
The Bobcats hold a 11-16-6 record against the Saints. Saturday's game will be the first matchup between the two teams this season. Last year, the Bobcats lost to the Saints in the quarterfinals of the ECAC tournament.
Bobcats' Last Time Out
Quinnipiac split a two-game series with the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs Jan. 25-26. In the 3-1 loss, freshman Lexie Adzija scored her fourth goal of the year. In the 2-1 win, sophomore Taylor House scored her sixth of the year, while Laura Lundblad netted the game winner in the third period. Junior netminder Abbie Ives had 31 saves for the Bobcats in the win against the Bulldogs.
Ives Looking Solid in the Net
Ives has recorded four shutouts on the season against Brown, Yale and Harvard. She recorded a season-high 39 saves in the 3-2 win against UConn.
In the ECAC, Ives is ranked fourth overall with a 1.71 GAA, and she is ranked 15th in the country with an overall 1.79 GAA.
Defensemen Lighting it Up
Kati Tabin and Kate MacKenzie are ranked in the top ten for defenseman scoring in the ECAC. Tabin (4-4-8) is ranked sixth and MacKenzie (2-5-7) is ranked 10th. Kenzie Prater added an assist this weekend in the 3-1 win against Minnesota Duluth.
Bobcats on the PK
Quinnipiac has gone 35-39 (89.7%) on the penalty kill through 14 ECAC games, which ranks second overall in the conference behind RPI.
A Look at the ECAC
Princeton controls the first spot in the ECAC standings and has yet to be defeated in conference play with 25 points. The Big Red and the Golden Knights are in second and third. Colgate, RPI, St. Lawrence, Quinnipiac, and Yale follow to make up the middle of the conference. Harvard, Brown, Dartmouth and Union stand at the bottom.
Samo's Career
Samoskevich recorded her 100th career point against Sacred Heart after scoring her 50th goal. She is the sixth women's hockey player to score 100 caeer points. The senior is now ranked third on the all-time individual goals record list behind Kelly Babstock (95) and T.T. Cianfarano (58). She is ranked eighth on the all-time assists list with 51.

Senior forward Randi Marcon has already surpassed her point totals from last season with four goals and four assists for eight points in 2018-19.
