HAMDEN, Conn. –The Quinnipiac field hockey team is in search of its second BIG EAST win when they travel south to Lynchburg, Virginia, for a showdown with the No. 20 Liberty Flames Friday night.
Last Time Out
Quinnipiac had a pair of games this past weekend with the Bobcats posting a 1-1 mark. The Bobcats opened up last weekend with a Friday afternoon victory over Georgetown to even their record in BIG EAST play, their first league win of the season. After a day off Saturday, Quinnipiac traveled to Lowell, Massachusetts, to face the UMass Lowell River Hawks where they fell in non-conference play.
Scouting Liberty
The Flames have spent all season ranked in the Top 25 in the nation, checking in this week at No. 20. Liberty comes into the weekend winners of four straight games, including a pair of BIG EAST wins over Villanova and Temple to improve to 7-2 overall and 2-0 in league play. In their last game, the Flames took down the Temple Owls, 8-2, led by Agueda Moroni's two-goal, two assist performance and Charlotte Vaanhold's two goals and one assist off the bench. Agueda has 40 points on the season from 16 goals and eight assists to lead the Liberty offense while Jill Bolton has eight goals. Goalkeeper Allison Schaefer has seen the bulk of the action in the cage, posting a 7-2 record with one shutout, a 1.52 GAA and a .723 save percentage
