NOTES
- The Bobcats took a 9-3 lead after a four-run fifth, which was keyed by a two-run double from senior designated hitter Julius Saporito (2-for-3, 4 RBI).
- Saporito's double made the score 8-3, and freshman second baseman Ian Ostberg followed with an RBI single to push the lead to 9-3.
- Senior first baseman Ben Gibson drove in the first run of the fifth with an RBI double.
- Hartford chipped away at the lead with a run in the fifth and three in the sixth to close to within 9-7.
- The Bobcats scored two unearned runs on a two-out error in the top of the eighth to seemingly take control of the game at 11-7, but Hartford responded with five runs in the bottom half to earn the win. Bryce Walker capped off the rally with a two-out, two-run single with the bases loaded.
- Gibson lined out for the second out of the ninth, and senior catcher Anthony Cruz followed with a walk. Pinch-hitter Kyle Horton followed with a sharp grounder up the middle, but the Hawks were able to get the forceout at second base to end the game.
- The Bobcats went ahead 3-1 in the top of the second when Saporito hit a two-run homer to break a 1-1 tie.
- Cruz had an RBI double to tie the score and Saporito followed with his first round-tripper of the year.
- Sophomore third baseman Evan Vulgamore had hits in his first three at-bats, giving him hits in six straight plate appearances. He finished the final Saint Peter's game on Saturday with homers in his last three at-bats. Vulgamore finished 3-for-5, while Saporito, Ostberg, sophomore left fielder Andre Marrero and junior center fielder Brian Moskey each had two hits.
- Quinnipiac played its 26th straight road game to start the season, going 11-15 in those games.
The Bobcats finally play home games this weekend when they welcome Monmouth for a three-game series at Quinnipiac Baseball Stadium, beginning with a doubleheader Saturday at noon.
