QU Softball Falls to St. John's in Day Three of Towson Invite

BALTIMORE, MD. – The Quinnipiac softball team closed the Towson Invite with a 9-0 loss against St. John's on day three of the tournament on Sunday, March 4. Miranda Magana, Keilani Finley and Casey Herzog each picked up a hit in the loss.

NOTES:

Herzog took the loss but went five innings, gave up two earned runs and struck out two batters in the process.
Miranda Magana led the game off with a single to center.
The Red Storm picked up two runs in the fourth inning, one in the fifth and six runs in the sixth.
The Bobcats threatened in the top of the fifth after Finley led the inning with a single, then two batters later Herzog singled to put runners on first and second with one out.
However, St. John's got out of the jam after striking out the next two Quinnipiac players.

The Bobcats will be back in action when they travel to Tampa to take part in the USF Under Armour Showcase beginning Friday, March 9.
