STONY BROOK, N.Y. - Starting pitcher Greg Marino allowed two hits over seven innings to get the win as the Stony Brook baseball team took the final game of a three-game series from Quinnipiac 9-2 on Sunday afternoon.

NOTES

Sophomore left fielder Andre Marrero had an RBI double in the top of the first inning to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead.
Sophomore shortstop Dylan Lutz led off the game with a walk and was able to come home from first on a double down the right field line from Marrero.
Freshman Colton Bender had a pinch hit single in the fifth inning for the other Bobcat hit off of Stony Brook starter Greg Marino.
Sam Turcotte threw two innings of shutout relief to finish off a combined two-hitter.
The Quinnipiac bullpen did not allow a hit over three innings. Sophomore Mike DellaMedaglia threw a shutout seventh with two strikeouts, junior Andrew Workman worked a 1-2-3 eighth and sophomore Nick Paasch threw a 1-2-3 ninth.
The game was the 20th straight road contest to start the season for the Bobcats, who had their home opener on Tuesday against Yale postponed due to field conditions.

NEXT UP
Quinnipiac will continue its road stretch to start the season with five more games away from Hamden this week, beginning with non-conference games at Rhode Island on Tuesday and Dartmouth on Wednesday. The Bobcats will then begin MAAC play with a three-game series at Saint Peter's on Friday and Saturday.
