GAME NOTES
- Senior pitcher Casey Herzog retired the first 11 batters in order and took a no-hitter into the fifth before giving up a single to center fielder Amanda Kulp.
- Just before hitting the single, Kulp went over the outfield wall in center field to rob senior outfielder Keilani Finley of a grand slam to end the bottom of the fourth, preventing the Bobcats from enforcing the eight-run rule.
- Kulp also singled in the seventh, setting up an RBI double from Lauren Reilly with two outs that ended Herzog's bid for a third shutout in a row
- Herzog opened the Michelle Smith Tournament with a complete-game shutout in a 2-0 win over Army on Friday, and then threw a one-hitter in an 11-0 win over Buffalo yesterday.
- Quinnipiac gave Herzog all the offense she would need in the first inning, when senior first baseman Keala Cordeiro had a two-run single with two outs.
- Junior third baseman Taylor Troyan tacked on a run in the bottom of the second with a solo shot to center, making the score 3-0.
- Senior catcher Lexi Courtney drew a bases loaded walk with two outs in the fourth to stretch the lead to 4-0, and Finley nearly doubled the lead one batter later, but was denied by Kulp's game-saving catch.
- Herzog was also 2-for-3 at the plate, while junior outfielder Erin Larsen and sophomore designated player Megan Dyson were each 2-for-4.
