MOUNT PLEASANT, South Carolina - The Quinnipiac baseball team completed a two-game sweep over the College of Charleston on Wednesday afternoon, defeating the Cougars, 2-1. The Bobcats are now 8-6 on the season, winning five of their last six games. Charleston falls to 13-5 for the year.

NOTES

Freshman Robert Lewis earned his first collegiate victory in his first start as a Bobcat.
Lewis completed five innings, allowing only one on five hits. The freshman collected three strikeouts in the winning performance.
Quinnipiac would score their first run in the top of the third inning.
Sophomore Dylan Lutz and freshman Colton Bender would each hit one-out singles to set the table.
Sophomore Evan Vulgamore drove home his classmate Lutz with a grounder to even up the score.
The Bobcats would take the lead in the top of the next frame.
Junior Liam Scafariello led off the inning with a two-bagger, and would advance to third on a Ben Gibson fly out.
Sophomore Andre Marrero would plate the game-winning run with a double of his own.
Senior Mike Davis recorded his third save of the season with a 1-2-3 9th inning. He is 3-3 in save situations this season.
Junior Brian Moskey continued his tear to begin the 2018 season, going 4-4 on the afternoon and increasing his batting average to .400.
Freshman Arthur Correira did not allow a hit in two innings work out of the bullpen and struck out one batter.
Senior Wyatt Hamilton struck out a pair of batters to strand a runner on third base in the bottom of the eighth inning.

The Bobcats head to North Carolina to take on UNC Wilmington in a three-game series. The first game is set for Friday, March 16 at 6 p.m. Game two of the series is on Saturday, March 17 at 4:00 p.m., and the final game will be on Sunday, March 18 at 2:00 p.m.
