AMHERST, Mass. – Quinnipiac men's basketball's comeback attempt fell just short on Wednesday night at the Mullins Center, dropping a non-conference contest vs. UMass by the final score of 69-62. The Bobcats went on a 17-5 run over 6:02 in the second half to cut the deficit to single digits.

Travis Atson led the way, scoring a season-best 16 points to go along with eight rebounds. Aaron Robinson chipped in with a season-high 15 points off the bench for the Bobcats.

The Bobcats went on a 17-5 run over 6:02 in the second half, cutting the deficit to just nine points. The run started on an Aaron Robinson 3-pointer with 10:20 left in the game, ending with a pair of Cameron Young free throws with 5:14 left.
Travis Atson's season-high 16 points came on 5-of-13 shooting. The junior knocked down two 3-pointers, going 4-for-6 from the line in the loss.
Aaron Robinson recorded his second-straight game with double-digit points off the bench. The senior went 5-for-9 from 3-point distance in 31 minutes of action.
Jacob Rigoni added 10 points and four rebounds,
Kevin Marfo grabbed eight more rebounds in 25 minutes. He's now recorded a team-best 9.2 rebounds per contest over Quinnipiac's first five games.
Rigoni and Atson combined to score the Bobcats first 13 points. Rigoni scored eight points over the first 10 minutes of action, while Atson tallied five points.
Quinnipiac shot 18-of-60 (30.0%) in total, knocking down 10 3-pointers. The Bobcats have now converted on at least nine 3-point attempts in four of five games.
