Cameron Young Scores Season-High 29 Points, Bobcats Fall at Stony Brook

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Quinnipiac men's basketball dropped a non-conference contest at Stony Brook, 71-61, in the first-ever meeting between the two programs on Saturday night at Island Federal Credit Union Arena.
The Bobcats second-half comeback fell just short. Quinnipiac trailed by as many as 20 points in the first half of play, cutting the deficit to two points with just 2:48 left.
Cameron Young led the way for the Bobcats, recording a season-high 29 points. Rich Kelly tallied seven points and six assists in his return to the floor, and Abdulai Bundu added 10 rebounds.

- Cameron Young's 29 points are the most he's scored this year. The graduate student has tallied double-digit point totals in five of the Bobcats' six games so far this year. Young added four rebounds and two assists, shooting 15-of-18 from the free throw line. 15 foul shots made is the second highest total of Young's career, as he made 16 free throws on Jan. 5, 2018 vs. Canisius.
- 2017-18 MAAC All-Rookie guard Rich Kelly returned to action for the first time this season, checking in for the Bobcats following the first media timeout of the contest. Kelly recorded seven points and six assists in 24 minutes of action.
- Abdulai Bundu contributed with six points and a season-best 10 rebounds, going 3-for-6 from the floor.
- Tyrese Williams added nine points and five helpers, while Kevin Marfo tallied eight points and six rebounds.
- Quinnipiac shot 19-for-55 from the floor (34.5 percent), knocking down two 3-pointers.
- Stony Brook opened the contest on a 16-4 run over the first 5:43 of the first half.
