Lancaster Scores Twice, Ives Makes 23 Saves
HAMDEN, Connecticut – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team defeated No. 5/5 Cornell, 4-0. Sophomore Abbie Ives (Bedford Hills, New York) recorded her second shutout of the season, as Kenzie Lancaster (Waxhaw, North Carolina) recorded two goals. Kati Tabin (Winnipeg, Manitoba) scored the game-winner for the Bobcats, and Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout (Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec) added an empty netter.

- 16:35 1st Period (QU 1-0) On the power play, Kati Tabin sniped a wrist shot from the blue line for the score after getting the feed from Kenzie Lancaster. Melissa Samoskevich also assisted on the play.
- 12:46 3rd Period (QU 2-0) Kenzie Lancaster found the rebound from Olivia Konigson right in front of the net for the insurance goal.
- 15:35 3rd Period (QU 3-0) After some back and forth passing, Melissa Samoskevich found Kenzie Lancaster for the goal and her second of the game.
- 18:22 3rd Period (QU 4-0) On the empty net, Sarah-Eve Coutu Godbout was able to put the puck home for the final goal of the game.
NOTES
- Sophomore Kati Tabin (Winnipeg, Manitoba) tallied her second goal of the season, her first since scoring against Yale in the Nutmeg Classic on Nov. 24, 2017.
- ?????Tabin's goal was the Bobcats' first power play goal since Brooke Bonsteel (Mississauga, Ontario) scored against Princeton in a 3-1 win on Dec. 9, 2017.
- Tabin also tallied an assist on Kenzie Lancaster's (Waxhaw, North Carolina) second goal.
- Kenzie Lancaster added her sixth and seventh goals of the season. In addition to being the team leader in points (18), Lancaster added her team-leading 11th assist of the year.
- Lancaster is the first Bobcat with a multi-goal game since Brooke Bonsteel (Mississauga, Ontario) tallied two against Harvard on Dec. 1, 2017.
- Junior captain Melissa Samoskevich (Sandy Hook, Connecticut) recorded her 6th and 7th assists of the season and is now second on the team in points (16).
- Sophomore Sarah-Eve Coutu Godbout (Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec) tallied her seventh goal of the season on an empty-netter.
- The goal was the team's first empty-netter since Coutu-Godbout scored in the team's 4-1 victory over Vermont on Oct. 10, 2017.
- Freshman Olivia Konigson (Stillwater, Minnesota) recorded her first ever collegiate point with an assist on Lancaster's goal.
- Sophomore Abbie Ives (Bedford Hills, New York) recorded her second shutout of the season and fourth of her career. Her last shutout came against Providence in a 1-0 win on Oct. 7, 2017.
- The last time the Bobcats had three players with multiple points came on Feb. 17, 2017 in a 5-0 victory of RPI (Emma Woods, Kenzie Lancaster, Melissa Samoskevich).
- The victory marks the Bobcats first victory over a ranked opponent since the team defeated No. 3/3 Clarkson, 3-2, on Nov. 17, 2017.
- Quinnipiac is now 4-3 in its last seven games against ECAC opponents.
- The Bobcats are now 8-2-0 at home this season.
- Head coach Cassandra Turner is now 3-2-1 all-time against Cornell.
