HAMDEN, Connecticut – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team defeated Brown, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon. Kenzie Lancaster (Waxhaw, North Carolina) and Melissa Samoskevich (Sandy Hook, Connecticut) continued to lead the Bobcats offensively, scoring a goal apiece.

SCORING SUMMARY

15:43 2nd Period (QU 1-0): After Melissa Samoskevich got the puck to the right of the crease, Kenzie Lancaster found the puck and put it home for the top shelf score. Raquel Pennoyer also assisted on the play.
17:44 2nd Period (QU 2-0): Melissa Samoskevich sniped one for the Bobcats' second goal of the game after breaking free and finding an open lane in the slot.
18:30 2nd Period (QU 2-1) Bridget Carey brought the Bears within one less than a minute after the Bobcats went up 2-0.

NOTES

Kenzie Lancaster (Waxhaw, North Carolina) tallied her eighth goal of the season and her fourth in her last five games. Lancaster continues to lead the team in points (19) and assists (11).
Lancaster finished the game as the team leader in shots (6).
Junior Captain Melissa Samoskevich (Sandy Hook, Connecticut) recorded her team-leading 10th goal of the season. The forward also picked up her fourth assist in her last five games.
Senior Raquel Pennoyer (Rehoboth, Massachusetts) recorded her seventh assist of the year on Lancaster's goal.
With the win, the Bobcats improve to 6-4-0 in their last 10 games against ECAC opponents.
Quinnipiac is now 9-3-0 at home this season.
In their last five games against Brown, the Bobcats have outscored the Bears 28-2.
Head coach Cassandra Turner remains undefeated against her alma mater, with a record of 5-0-0.
