
QU Volleyball Drops Another Close One, Falls 3-1 At Bryant

Smithfield, R.I.. – The Bryant volleyball team had the last two points in the third set for a 25-23 win and the final two points in the fourth for a 26-24 win to earn a 3-1 victory over Quinnipiac on Tuesday afternoon at the Chace Athletic Center, spoiling a career-high tying 18 kills from sophomore Natalie Alechko (Old Tappan, N.J.) and the third double-double of the season from junior Kat Miller (Collegeville, Pa.) with 12 kills and 17 digs.

- Quinnipiac suffered its third narrow loss in its first four matches, after falling 3-2 to Fort Wayne and Toledo in its first two outings.
- Down 23-18 in the fourth set, the Bobcats used a 5-0 run to tie the match, capped off by a Kat Miller kill. After Bryant went ahead 24-23, Miller fought off the first match point with another kill. However, Kristin Kingi won it for Bryant on the second match point with a back row kill.
- Quinnipiac also rallied from a five-point deficit in the third set (14-9) to take the lead at 20-19 on a block from sophomores Kaleigh Oates and Natalie Alechko. After Bryant went back in front, a kill from Miller tied it 23-23, before Bryant earned the last two points of the set to take a 2-1 lead.
- The Bobcats had a big second set, winning 25-15 to level the match while hitting .407 in the frame due to only one error.
- Alechko had six kills in a 25-20 loss in the first set, and started off a 4-0 run in the second set with two straight kills that turned a 13-10 lead into a 17-10 advantage
- Kat Miller's double-double was her third in four matches this season
- Alechko's 18 kills matched her personal best which she set at Rider last year
