OLD RIVALS
After a quick two-game stint on the road, the Quinnipiac softball team returns home to host former NEC rival Sacred Heart in a Tuesday doubleheader at the QU Softball Field. The Bobcats will then take on Yale on Wednesday, April 12, in a doubleheader at Dewitt Family Field.
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Sacred Heart is off to an 9-16 start to the season and are 1-1 in NEC play. The Pioneers' offense is lead by Lauren Delgadillo, who boasts a team-high .277 batting average.
LAST TIME VS SACRED HEART
Quinnipiac went 1-1 against Sacred Heart last season, winning the second matchup, 1-0. In the win, Casey Herzog (Wappinger Falls, New York) tossed six shutout innings, giving up just three hits, no walks and five strikeouts. Kendall Brundrett (San Diego, California) got the save in the win.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Yale is off to a 9-21 start and are 4-4 in Ivy League play. The Bulldogs' offense is lead by Shelby Kennedy, who boasts a team-high batting average of .337 and 10 RBIs.
LAST TIME VS YALE
The last time the Bobcats took on the Bulldogs, Quinnipiac swept them 3-1 and 1-0 in a doubleheader at the QU Softball Field. Keilani Finley (Alameda, California) went two-for-three with two RBIs in the game one win. Taylor Troyan (Boca Raton, Florida) went 1-for-1 with an RBI. In game two, Herzog pitched a one-hit, complete-game shutout for the win. Herzog helped her cause from the plate as well, hitting a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning.
LAST TIME OUT
Last time the Bobcats took the field, Quinnipiac dropped a doubleheader at Monmouth on Sunday, 2-1 and 2-1. Rachel Marchuk (San Ramon, California) drove in the only Quinnipiac run in game one with an RBI double. In game two, Lexi Courtney (Scappoose, Oregon) blasted a solo home run in the seventh inning.
THE LONG WAY
In her last five starts, Abbey Long (Eau Claire, Wisconsin) is 3-1 with a 1.73 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 26 innings pitched.

In her last five starts, Herzog is 3-2 with a 1.06 ERA, with two complete-game shutouts and 23 strikeouts.
MORE LIFE
Rebecca Drake (Whiting, New Jersey) has injected life into Quinnipiac's lineup this season. Drake boasts a team-best .367 batting average and has slugged four homers and driven in 18 runs. Drake also boasts an incredible .592 slugging percentage.
MARVELOUS MAGANA
Miranda Magana (Santa Paula, California) has been one of the team's most consistent hitters so far this season. In 31 games, Magana has an impressive .359 batting average with a team-high six home runs and 18 RBIs. Magana also leads all everyday players with a .650 slugging percentage.
ROUGHING THE RIGHTIES
Drake and Magana have hammered right-handed pitching so far this season. Drake is 33-for-82 (.402) against righties, while Magana is 30-for-85 (.353) against righties.
SEND 'EM HOME
Quinnipiac has a .274 batting average with runners in scoring position this season. Drake is an astounding 12-for-29 (.4414 with runners in scoring position, Larsen is hitting .357 and Magana is hitting .333 with RISP.
