MAAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Quinnipiac women's tennis senior Sydney Young (Austin, Texas) was named the MAAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Wednesday, March 8. Young's player of the week honors are the second of her career, and she is the second Quinnipiac women's tennis player to be honored with a weekly award this season, as Rachel Horton (Stamford, Connecticut) won the award earlier this season.
Young went 1-0 in Quinnipiac's loss to Army on Saturday. Young teamed up with Horton to defeat Nancy Porter and Melanie Allen, 6-4 in the No. 1 doubles match. Young also took on Porter in the No. 4 singles draw but the match went unfinished since the teams played in a clinching style format, where Army won 4-1. However, before the match concluded, Young had won the first set 6-2 and the second set was tied 6-6 when it was called
