BUIES CREEK, North Carolina - Campbell University scored nine combined runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings on Saturday afternoon at Jim Perry Stadium, topping Quinnipiac baseball by the final score of 10-7. The loss ends the Bobcats three-game winning streak on the road, as Quinnipiac is now 4-2 overall in 2017.

The Bobcats scored seven runs on seven hits in total. Mike Palladino (Rockville Centre, NY) led the team offensively with two hits, an RBI and one run scored - his second multi-hit game of the young season. Liam Scafariello (Southington, CT) had a double and 2 RBI's, while Ben Gibson (Sagamore Beach, MA) and Ryan Nelson (Knoxville, TN) each chipped in with a one-hit, one-RBI performance.

Brandon Shileikis (North Dighton, MA) got the start for Quinnipiac, going 3.1 quality innings on the mound. The senior righty gave up just six hits and four runs, while striking out three Campbell hitters (two looking). Colin Donnelly (Bel Air, MD) also got two outs on the hill, fanning one batter. Chris Enns (Canton, CT) went the last 4.0 innings out of the bullpen, giving up just four hits and one earned one while striking out two.

Quinnipiac got on the board first in the top half of the second inning, as Nelson doubled to right field to score Joseph Burns (Shelton, CT) and make it 1-0 Bobcats.

Campbell tied things up 1-1, but Quinnipiac's offense put up another four runs in the top of the fourth inning to make it 5-1.

Gibson started the scoring, driving in a run with a single to right field to make it 2-1. Brian Moskey (Higganum, CT) scored on a wild pitch to make it 3-1, then Evan Vulgamore (Bow, MA) grounded out to bring in another run and make it 4-1. Palladino singled in another run later in the inning to round out the scoring in the fourth and extend QU's lead to 5-1.

The Camels would respond, scoring six runs in the fourth inning, one in the fifth and two in the sixth to take a 10-5 lead.

Scafariello and the Bobcats didn't go quietly in the ninth inning, as Scafariello doubled to deep center field to drive in two runs and make it 10-7 - but that's all QU could manage. Quinnipiac and Campbell are back in action on Sunday, Feb. 26, playing third and final game of the series at 1 p.m.
