HAMDEN, Conn. - No. 10/10 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey takes to the ice for its final two regular season games of the 2016-17 season this weekend, hosting Rensselaer on Friday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m., then Union on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 3 p.m. (Senior Day).

SENIOR DAY
The Bobcats will honor their seven seniors during Saturday's regular season finale vs. Union. Meghan Turner, Taryn Baumgardt, Danielle Marmer, Emma Woods, Emma Greco, Mika Nervick and Sydney Rossman will be honored.

The six senior skaters have combined for 89 goals goals and 143 assists for 232 points in total over the last four years in Hamden, while goaltender Sydney Rossman is currently on pace to break the program's record for goals-against average and save percentage.

The seniors helped propel the program to new heights, already winning a total of 100 games in four seasons. They helped the Bobcats reach the NCAA Tournament in 2014-15, and were a member of the 2015-16 team that won the program's first ECAC Hockey Championship.

LAST WEEKEND
Quinnipiac went 0-1-1 this past weekend up in North Country. The Bobcats played to a 1-1 tie vs. No. 3 St. Lawrence last Saturday, then fell to No. 4 Clarkson, 1-0, on Sunday. Emma Woods (Burford, Ontario) score the Bobcats lone goal during Saturday's tie, with assists from Taylar Cianfarano (Oswego, New York) and Randi Marcon (Winnipeg, Manitoba). Senior goaltender Sydney Rossman (Excelsior, Minnesota) made 41 total saves on the weekend, surrendering just two goals over two games.

IN THE ECAC

Quinnipiac (25 points) is currently No. 6 in the ECAC heading into the final weekend of the regular season.
The Bobcats have already clinched a top 6 seed in the conference, and can finish as high as No. 4 by the weekend's end.

IN THE POLLS

Quinnipiac has been ranked No. 10 nationally in both the latest USCHO.com Poll and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll, as announced on Feb. 13 and Feb. 14, 2017.

SCOUTING RPI

RPI is 10-20-2 so far this year, seven wins in ECAC Hockey play.
The Engineers topped Harvard, 4-1, in its last game to snap a five-game losing streak.
RPI has five players with double-digit points this year, led by senior Laura Horwood (5 goals, 12 assists).

ALL-TIME vs. RPI

Quinnipiac is 15-12-2 all-time vs. RPI.
The Bobcats are 6-0-1 in the last seven meetings between the two programs.

SCOUTING UNION

Union is 5-21-6 overall this year, with two victories in ECAC action.
The program won its last time out vs. Dartmouth, 2-1, breaking a six game losing skid.
Union has four scorers with a team-high 11 points.

ALL-TIME vs. UNION

Quinnipiac is 26-0-4 all-time vs. Union.
The Bobcats have won the last eight games between the two programs.

MILESTONE WATCH: CAREER SHUTOUTS

Sydney Rossman has 24 career shutouts at Quinnipiac. She needs just one more shutout to tie the program record of 25 shutouts set by Chelsea Laden ('15) and Victoria Vigilanti ('13).

Four current Bobcats' seniors are closing in on the Quinnipiac program record for most games played (149), set by both Nicole Brown and Kristen Tamberg
Emma Greco has played in 139 career games, Emma Woods and Meghan Turner have played in 144 games, and Taryn Baumgardt has participated in 145 career games at Quinnipiac.

Quinnipiac has won 910 faceoffs in total so far this year, which ranks No. 7 in the country.
Emma Woods (Burford, Ontario) is No. 2 in the nation with 377 individual faceoff wins so far in 2016-17.

DOMINANT DEFENSE

Quinnipiac currently ranks No. 2 in the nation in team defense, giving up just 1.41 goals per contest.

POWER PLAY

Quinnipiac has scored on 21-of-113 power play chances thus far in 2016-17, a rate of 18.58 percent – which ranks No. 6 in the country.

PENALTY KILL

Quinnipiac ranked No. 2 in the nation in PK percentage last season, killing off 98-of-106 penalties (92.5 percent). This year, the Bobcats have successfully killed 95-of-108 PK chances, good for 88.0 percent.

JUST SCORE FIRST

Last year, Quinnipiac scored first in 25 of its 34 regular season games – going 22-0-3 in those games. The Bobcats have scored first in 20 of 32 games so far in the 2016-17 season, going 16-1-3 when scoring first.

SHOOT TO THRILL

The Bobcats are 39-3-8 in games where they outshoot their opponent, dating back to the start of last season. Quinnipiac has recorded more shots in 24 of 30 games so far in 2016-17, going 18-2-4 in that span.

CENTURY MARK

Emma Woods (Burford, Ontario) and Taylar Cianfarano (Oswego, New York) both reached 100 career points in the Bobcats' final game before the winter break, a 6-1 win over RPI on Dec. 3, 2016. Woods, the senior captain, reached the century mark in 133 career games (43 goals, 57 assists). Cianfarano, a junior, reached the plateau in 94 games (56 goals, 44 assists).

SUPER CIANFARANO

Taylar Cianfarano (Oswego, New York) has six power-play scores, which ranks tied for No. 3 in the nation.

NO ASSISTS? NO PROBLEM

Kenzie Lancaster (Waxhaw, North Carolina) has four unassisted goals so far in 2016-17, which ranks No. 3 in Division I hockey.

Following the final weekend of the 2016-17 regular season, Quinnipiac will play a three-game series in the first round of the ECAC Hockey Tournament.

TOP DOG

The Bobcats were picked as ECAC Hockey's favorite entering the 2016-17 season, finishing No. 1 overall in the ECAC Hockey Preseason Coaches Poll. Junior forward Taylar Cianfarano (Oswego, New York) was selected to the Preseason All-ECAC First Team. Last year as a sophomore, Cianfarano led the ECAC with 52 points.

COMMANDING THE CONFERENCE

Quinnipiac dominated ECAC Hockey play last year, going 16-2-4. The Bobcats finished with 36 overall points, three total points ahead of Clarkson – who went 14-3-5 in conference action. QU allowed just 18 goals in 22 conference games in 2015-16. The Bobcats have gone 7-3-1 in their first 11 conference games this year.

LAST SEASON

As a team, Quinnipiac is on the heels of perhaps its most impressive season in program history, which ended with an ECAC Hockey Championship and an NCAA Tournament berth. The Bobcats went 30-3-5 in 2015-16, earning the most wins and highest win percentage (.885) in team history. Head coach Cassandra Turner also set the NCAA Record for most wins by a first-year women's ice hockey head coach.

BENCHMARK YEAR

Other program records set in 2015-16 included: most goals scored (118), most assists (188), highest power play percentage (25 percent), highest penalty kill (92.5 percent), fewest goals allowed (35), lowest GAA (0.92), most home wins (18), longest winning streak (10 games), and longest unbeaten streak (21 games).

Player Notes
EMMA WOODS

Woods was unanimously voted by her teammates to be the Bobcats' captain for 2016-17 season.
Has 12 goals and nine assists so far this year for the Bobcats, and 47 career goals to go along with 57 assists for 104 points.

SYDNEY ROSSMAN

Bobcats' goaltender Sydney Rossman had a .949 save percentage a season ago, allowing just .90 goals per game in 39 games (second-best in the nation). The 2016 ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Year recorded 16 shutouts in 2015-16, which is tied with former Bobcat netminder Chelsea Laden's single-season record from 2014-15.
Her current .935 save percentage and 1.17 goals-against average for her career rank No. 1 in program history.
Has six shutouts so far in 2016-17, with a .916 save percentage.
She is also an assistant captain for Quinnipiac this year.
Rossman has 24 career shutouts, needing one more to tie the program's all-time record.

TAYLAR CIANFARANO

T.T. Cianfarano recorded 28 goals and 24 assists last year, winning ECAC Hockey Player of the Year honors.
She owns the Quinnipiac program record for most goals and most points in a single-season for a sophomore.
She was selected to the Preseason 2016-17 All-ECAC First Team
Has 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points this year, and 57 goals and 50 assists for 107 points in her career.

MELISSA SAMOSKEVICH

Melissa Samoskevich has nine goals and 14 assists for 23 points so far this year.
She was named to the ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team last season, after putting up 16 goals and 16 assists as a freshman.
Samoskevich has 25 goals and 30 assists for 55 career points.

MEGHAN TURNER

Meghan Turner, an assistant captain for the Bobcats in 2016-17, has nine goals and 10 assists for 19 points so far this season.
She has 26 career goals and 23 career assists over four years with the Bobcats – including a career-high eight goals in 2015-16.

TARYN BAUMGARDT

Taryn Baumgardt has six goals and nine assists so far this year.
The defender has two goals and four assists for six points in 2014-15, and then three goals and 10 helpers for 13 points in 2015-16. She has 12 career goals and 29 assists for 41 points.

EMMA GRECO

Senior Emma Greco has nine assists so far this season to go along with a team-high 53 blocked shots.
She has two goals and 22 assists for 24 career points.

KENZIE PRATER

Kenzie Prater has six goals and seven assists for 13 points in her first season at QU.
She was a member of the 2016 U.S. Women's Under-22 team, alongside teammates Cianfarano and Samoskevich.

Kenzie Lancaster has nine goals and six assists for 15 points this year, and nine goals and seven assists for 16 career tallies.

Randi Marcon has six goals and three assists for nine points so far in 2016-17, and 10 goals and five assists for 15 career points.

Freshman Kate MacKenzie has six goals and six assists in her first season with the Bobcats. She tallied three assists in the Oct. 29 victory over Brown.
