Regular Season Coming to an End
The Quinnipiac women's tennis team will finish up the regular season this week with two matches on the road and one at home, traveling to Fairfield, Connecticut to face the Fairfield Stags on Tuesday, Apr. 19 at 3 PM followed by a 1 PM match against the Siena Saints in Watervilet, New York on Saturday, Apr. 23. Quinnipiac added a make up date of its match with the ASA College Avengers for Sunday, Apr. 24 at 1 PM at the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts.
All-Time Series vs. Fairfield
The Bobcats are undefeated in eight all-time meetings between the two teams, including 3-0 in MAAC play since Quinnipiac joined the league for the 2013-14 season. Last season, the Bobcats and Stags met in the regular season with Quinnipiac winning, 6-1. Current Bobcats Sitilia Rencheli, Sydney Young and Rachel Horton all won two matches in the match.
Scouting the Stags
Fairfield comes into Tuesday's match with a 2-16 record with both wins coming in MAAC play, good for a 2-4 record. Last time out, Fairfield beat Saint Peter's, 6-1, to snap a 14-match winning streak after opening up the season with a 6-1 win against Rider. Nicole Aragones leads the team with six singles victories while she and Sarah Stuhlmann are 3-4 in doubles play, all in the No. 1 position.
All-Time Series vs. Siena
Quinnipiac is a perfect 5-0 against the Siena Saints dating back to the 2005-06 season, and two of the five meetings have come since Quinnipiac joined the MAAC. The Bobcats swept the Saints, 7-0 and did not drop a single match. Young, Horton, and Sophia Dzulynsky each won two matches as they honored their outgoing senior class.
Scouting the Saints
Siena is much improved this season coming into their match in the Bobcats' regular season finale. The Saints boast a winning record at 9-8 and are 4-1 in the MAAC this season. Despite the winning record, Siena is 2-3 in the last five matches. Allysa Singh and Natalie Weaver each have double digit wins with 12 and 10, respectively. Mitsuki Fukamachi is 9-6 this season while Ali Garrity and Rina Sakai, the top two in the lineup, are each 8-8. Fukamachi and Garrity are 10-7 this season in doubles play together, including 9-6 at No. 1 doubles. Singh and Weaver have the second most wins at 7-6, all coming at No. 2 doubles.

Scouting the Avengers
ASA is playing its first match of the season against the Bobcats this Saturday after scrimmages against Buffalo and Arcadia. The Avengers have won back-to-back NJCAA Division I National Championships. Last season, they became the first team since 1991 to sweep all the singles and doubles matches, and lost just one set in the entire championship tournament.

The Bobcats rallied to defeat the Marist Red Foxes, 6-1, in final match at the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts. Sydney Young, Jennifer Lu and Proyfon Lohaphaisan all won two matches for the Bobcats in the match.

The Bobcats remain undefeated in conference play since joining the MAAC for the 2013-14 season. Quinnipiac is a perfect 25-0 against MAAC opponents, including 5-0 this season heading into the final two matches.
On the Verge of a Title
With a win at Fairfield on Tuesday, Quinnipiac will clinch at least a share of the MAAC regular season championship for the third consecutive season. With a win at Fairfield and a win at Siena, Quinnipiac will be the sole regular season champions in the MAAC.

The Bobcats have won their last two matches and four of the last five to bring their record up to 10-10 this season. With 10 wins, Quinnipiac has six consecutive seasons of at least 10 wins. In their 10 wins, Quinnipiac was won at least six individual matches in nine of them.

This past week, the Bobcats were nearly perfect as they went 11-1 in the 12 individual singles matches while going 5-1 in the six doubles matches. Young, Jennifer Lu and Proyfon Lohaphaisan were all 4-0 in the week between singles and doubles.

Dzulynsky won her 100th career match as a member of the Bobcats with two wins against the Monmouth Hawks early in the week. She had a great week as she went 3-1, including two key wins at No. 1 singles against Adriana Armendiaz from Monmouth and Karlene Pang from Marist. Dzulynsky's win vs. Pang was her first time defeating the Red Fox. Dzulynsky has now won four of her last five matches at No. 1 singles. Dzulynsky now has 29 wins this season with 10 in singles and 19 in doubles.
Skip to My Lu
Lu went a perfect 4-0 for the Bobcats, with two wins coming in each singles and doubles. Lu has been a mainstay in the middle of the Bobcats lineup, primarily playing in the No. 3 and No. 4 slot. Lu has won three straight singles matches and seven of her last eight, while playing just as well at doubles with wins in six of her last seven. She has 28 wins this season with 14 each coming in singles and doubles.
Syd the Kid
Young continues her climb to 100 career victories as she ends the week with 95, looking to become the 21st player in program history to achieve the feat. Young has won eight consecutive individual matches, with four straight wins in singles and five straight wins in doubles. She has come on strong in the second half of the season with 14 wins.
Phenomenal Freshman Season
Lohaphaisan was the third Bobcat to have a perfect week with four wins. She has played well all season, continuing it this late in the season. She has won seven of her last eight finished matches in both singles and doubles. This season, Lohaphaisan is second on the team with 15 singles wins, 21 doubles wins and 36 overall wins.
The One Approaching a Record
Horton is coming up on a bit of history herself as she has racked up 40 wins this season. Horton went 3-1 this past week for the Bobcats, also winning seven of her last eight finished matches in both singles and doubles. Horton has 23 doubles wins this season, tied for the fourth most in a single season in program history while her 40 overall wins are tied for 11th.
We're Talkin' Playoffs
The Bobcats have once again qualified for a conference postseason tournament. The 2016 MAAC Women's Tennis tournament is scheduled for Saturday, Apr. 30 to Sunday, May 1 where Quinnipiac will be searching for its third consecutive MAAC Title, ninth overall conference championship and ninth NCAA Tournament appearance.
