
QU Women's Ice Hockey Ranked No. 4 in USCHO.com Poll for 12th Straight Week

HAMDEN, Connecticut – For the 12th straight weekend, the Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team remains the No. 4 team in the country in the USCHO.com Division I Women's Poll, as announced on Monday, Feb. 29, 2016.
Quinnipiac advanced to the ECAC Hockey semifinals for the third consecutive season and fifth time overall after sweeping the No. 8 seed in the tournament, Rensselaer, with a 3-2 overtime victory and a 2-1 double overtime victory.
The Bobcats received 103 points in the poll after their weekend sweep. Quinnipiac also remained the No. 4 team in the PairWise Rankings after this weekend, positioned ahead of Clarkson at No. 5. Also in good position from ECAC Hockey is Princeton (No. 7) and Colgate (No. 8) as the NCAA playoffs approach. The USCHO.com PairWise Ranking is a system which attempts to mimic the method used by the NCAA Selection Committee to determine participants for the NCAA National Collegiate Women's hockey tournament.
Emma Woods (Burford, Ontario) scored a pair of goals in the first game of the quarterfinals, including the game-winner, to propel the Bobcats to the win. Nicole Connery (Newmarket, Ontario) scored the other goal and added an assist to record the 100th point of her career.
Nicole Brown (Oshawa, Ontario) scored the game-winning goal on Saturday to send the Bobcats into the semifinals, netting her goal with 6:36 left in the second overtime.
Taylar Cianfarano (Oswego, New York) continued her amazing season with one goal and two assists to put her over 50 points in a season, joining Kelly Babstock as the only two people to do so. Cianfarano's 51 points this season are the third most in program history, with Babstock owning the top two spots at 55 and 59 points. Cianfarano has 28 goals this season, tied for the second most in a single season in program history.
The Bobcats remain the top ranked team in ECAC Hockey followed by No. 5 Clarkson, No. 7 Colgate and No. 9 Princeton. St. Lawrence received two votes in the poll after advancing to the semifinals of the ECAC Hockey tournament. The top six spots remain unchanged, followed by Colgate and North Dakota leapfrogging Princeton to go to No. 7 and No. 8, respectively, with Princeton falling to No. 9 and Bemidji State falling to No. 10
