
QU Men's Ice Hockey Alums Attend NHL Rookie Camps

HAMDEN, Connecticut – Several Quinnipiac men's ice hockey alumni attended National Hockey League Rookie Camps last week.
- Matthew Peca earned an invite to the Tampa Bay Lightning's 2015 Training Camp after leading the Lightning with two goals and three assists at the Estero Tournament, including a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win against the Florida Panthers. Peca finished his Quinnipiac career in 2015 before signing with Tampa Bay in early April. - Bryce Van Brabant scored the Calgary Flames first of two goals in a 2-1 win against the Winnipeg Jets at the Young Stars Tourament. Van Brabant is the oldest player at the Flames' prospect camp, and will be in this second straight training camp. Van Brabant played six games with Calgary in 2014 and suited up for 52 games with the Flames AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Flames, totaling eight goals and seven assists. - Jeremy Langlois will be on the San Jose Sharks' training camp roster after signing an entry level contract in late July. Langlois will enter his third professional season following a four-year career at Quinnipiac that culminated in the Bobcats' appearance in the 2013 National Championship game. - Danny Federico was also on the Sharks' Rookie Camp roster and will join Langlois at Training Camp on Sept. 18.
