Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey's Sam Anas Named New England All-Star

Quinnipiac men's ice hockey sophomore Sam Anas (Potomac, Maryland) was named to the 2014-15 New England Division I Men's Hockey All-Star team as announced by the New England Hockey Writers Association on Apr. 7, 2015.

Anas was previously honored by the New England Hockey Writers Association in 2013-14 with the George Carens Award as the top rookie in New England. This season, Anas was named to the ECAC Hockey Second Team after leading Quinnipiac in goals (23) and points (39) for the second-straight season. Anas became just the second two-time all-ECAC Hockey selection in program history.
This year, Anas ranked eighth nationall in goals (23) and was one of 26 players, nationally, to score 20 or more goals this year. His 39 points ranked 33nd nationally as well. Among ECAC Hockey student-athletes, he was one of three - along with Harvards Jimmy Vesey and Union's Daniel Ciampiani to score 20 goals this year. His 39 points also ranked fifth in the league, while also leading ECAC Hockey in power play goals (9) and shots on goal (161).
For his career, Anas has accumulated 45 goals and 37 assists for 82 points in 77 career games through his first two seasons at Quinnipiac. For the year, he was one of four players in the league with 10 or more multiple-point games and led the league with eight goals when Quinnipiac was trailing.
In addition to the honor bestowed upon Anas by the New England Hockey Writers Association as freshman last year, he was also named the:
