HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac University men's soccer coach Eric Da Costa has announced Oscar Evans, a native of New Zealand, as his final addition for the 2015 incoming class. Da Costa now has seven new players who will join the Bobcats in the fall and look to win a second MAAC Championship.
Evans (Christchurch, New Zealand) joins the incoming class of Chris Dattalo (Lindenhurst, New York), Christian Casagranda (Brooklyn, New York), Rashawn Dally (Bloomfield, Connecticut), Colton Grobb (Suffield, Connecticut) and transfers Mikail Ellis (San Fernando, Trinidad) and Triston Henry (Scarborough, Ontario). They will look to fill the void left by seniors Borja Angoitia, Machel Baker, Raphael Carvalho, Joe Da Graca, Zach Friedenreich, Ashton Pett and Marcos Spanos. With seven seniors departing, Da Costa loses three All-Conference selections in Angoitia, Baker and Carvalho. In 2015, the Bobcats will go for a fourth straight regular-season title after hosting the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament and going undefeated in conference play with a 7-0-3 record in 2014.

Why did you choose Quinnipiac?
Quinnipiac University has a strong soccer program that is building year by year and the science program in my area of interest offers excellent opportunities for developing applied skills. On the personal front, communication with all of the Quinnipiac University staff and students has been very positive and everyone seemed to back each other up. In particular Coach Eric and Coach Graciano were very convincing that Quinnipiac would provide a challenging but supportive and enjoyable environment. I really liked the way it was emphasized that the student-athlete scholarship involved a two-way commitment and I was made to feel very welcome.
What do you hope to achieve at Quinnipiac?
My aim in attending Quinnipiac University is to make the most of the academic, soccer and Quinnipiac environment. I hope to gain a strong science degree that will provide me with opportunities to go into post-graduate study. I hope to contribute strongly to a tight team culture that continues to build on the team's success in recent years. I am excited by the chance to be part of a full-time soccer program so I can be pushed to my maximum. I am looking forward to traveling to a new part of the world and making new friends at an exciting university and location.
