Poudrier tapped the puck at Laden where she made a pad save. The puck trickled into the slot and Brown was there to wrist the puck past Laden for the goal for her eighth goal of the season.
Brown thought she had a second goal for Cornell with 14:45 remaining in the first period after redirecting a shot from Cassandra Poudrier at the point. After a lengthy review, Brown's goal was disallowed and the score remaining 1-0.
Pennoyer scored her first career at an opportune time in the first period with the Bobcats down 1-0 after the disallowed goal. DeAngelis then skated the puck along the end boards before passing the puck to Pennoyer who streaked down the middle of the slot and rocketed a shot past Voorheis' blocker to tie the game 1-1.
The Big Red reclaimed its lead with only 30 seconds remaining in the first period as Poudrier rocketed a pass from the defensive zone and was redirected by Emily Fulton at the center line to Brianne Jenner skating into the offensive zone. Cornell scored the game-winning goal on Hanna Bunton's ninth goal of the season. Woods picked up her second assist on the play when she backhanded a shot on goal that was saved by Laden but the rebound kicked out and Bunton was right next to the goal to tap the puck into the net.
