
Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey Moves To 18th In USCHO.com Division I Poll On Monday, Jan. 26

The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team jumped two spots to No. 18 in the USCHO.com Division I poll on Monday, Jan. 26, 2015. The Bobcats were idle this past weekend and are currently 15-8-1 overall and 10-2-0 in ECAC Hockey.
The Bobcats were off this past weekend, but return to action on Friday, Jan. 30 at Brown and Saturday, Jan. 31 at Yale. Quinnipiac will look to rebound from dropping a pair to Merrimack on Jan. 16-17.
Quinnipiac sophomore Sam Anas (Potomac, Maryland) currently leads the Bobcats in goals (13) and points (27) while his 14 assists rank second in head coach Rand Pecknold's line-up. Senior co-captain Matthew Peca (Petawawa, Ontario) is the team's assist leader, checking in with 18 for the year. Peca also ranks among the active NCAA Division I career leaders in assists (90) and points (129). In eight games to start the second half, Peca has three goals and seven assists for 10 points. Since Dec. 27, Peca and Anas (5-3-8) are two of seven players in ECAC Hockey to play eight games in that span and average a point-or-more per game. Additionally, junior Travis St. Denis (Trail, British Columbia) leads the team with four goals in the team's first eight games of the second half of the year. St. Denis' 11 goals for the year rank second to Anas' 13 markers.
