QU Men's Ice Hockey Moves Up One Spot to No. 14 in the Latest USCHO.com Poll

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team moved up one spot to No. 14 in the latest USCHO.com Division I Men's Poll despite a break from action this past week.
The Bobcats received 292 points in their move up to the No. 14 ranking after receiving 256 points the week before in the poll.
Quinnipiac and Harvard currently sit in a tie for first place in the ECAC with 12 points each. Despite the tie, the Bobcats have the most league wins (6) and overall wins (10) of any ECAC team so far this season. The Bobcats are 10-5-1 overall and 6-2-0 in ECAC Hockey games.
Both Landon Smith (Greenwood Village, Colorado) and Sam Anas (Potomac, Maryland) are averaging at least one point per game through the first 16 games of the season. Smith is in a three-way tie for the second most goals scored by a rookie with seven, just one behind Boston University freshman Jack Eichel. Smith is tied for fifth in points per game among rookies with 1.00 per game.
Anas is tied for 12th in the country with 0.62 goals per game as he has scored 10 goals in 16 games and tied for 19th in the country with 1.19 points per game, to lead the Bobcats. Anas also is tied for second in the country with 6 power play goals, just one behind St. Cloud State's Jonny Brodzinski.
Quinnipiac will continue to enjoy a break in the action before returning to ECAC Hockey play with a two-game weekend series against Princeton. The Bobcats will host the Tigers on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 4 p.m. before heading to Princeton, New Jersey for a 4 p.m. start on Sunday, Dec. 29 at Hobey Baker Memorial Rink. That game can be seen live on ESPN2 and TSN in Canada.
