All-Time Against the Golden Knights
Clarkson owns the all-time series against Quinnipiac, boasting a record of 18-6-3 in their 27 matchups. The Bobcats and Golden Knights have arleady faced off one time in 2014-15 as the Bobcats were 1-0 victors in the matchup of top five teams on Nov. 21. Emma Woods scored the game-winning goal with 6:21 left in the second period on assists by Nicole Brown and Taryn Baumgardt. Chelsea Laden, at the time, picked up her 10th win of the season and 7th shutout. The win was Quinnipiac's second over a ranked team this season and first home victory over Clarkson since 2003.
Scouting the Golden Knights
No. 5 Clarkson comes into this Nutmeg Classic championship matchup with an 11-4-1 (5-1-1 ECAC Hockey) record. The Golden Knights have lost just one game in their last 10, coming against the Bobcats on Nov. 21. They are 1-3-1 against ranked teams this season, as they were swept by Boston University back on Oct. 17-18, tied Harvard on Nov. 14, beat Dartmouth 3-0 on Nov. 15 and lost to Quinnipiac 1-0 on Nov. 21. The offense continues to dominate for the Golden Knights with three players tallying eight goals or more and five players recording double digit points. Shannon MacAulay leads the attack with 14 goals and 11 assists for 25 points, leading the team in each category. Genevieve Bannon took over the team lead in assists with 11, and also has eight goals to give her 19 points. Cayley Mercer is not far behind Bannon's total with eight goals and 10 assists for 18 points of her own. Every skater has recorded at least one point for the Golden Knights. Defensively, Clarkson has really buckled down as of late. In the four losses this season, Clarkson gave up 14 of its 23 goals. Freshman netminder Shea Tiley nabbed the starting goaltender job and ran away with it after the graduation of Erica Howe. Tiley has played in 92 percent of the minutes between the pipes, allowing just 18 goals for a 1.21 GAA. Tiley has stopped 291 of the 309 shots she's faced this year on her way to compiling a .942 save percentage. Tiley has started in 15 of the 16 games for the Golden Knights. Clarkson continues to dominate on special teams as well as the power play converts at a rate of 24.5 percent while the penalty kill stops 89.2 percent of penalties. The power-play is currently third in the country while the penalty kill is eighth. The Golden Knights will give the Bobcats top defense and top penalty kill a challenging test in the second installment of this top five matchup.

Last Time Out
The Bobcats earned a spot in the Nutmeg Classic after defeating the Yale Bulldogs 5-2 on Nov. 28. Five different players scored for the Bobcats, including two-point games from Erica Uden Johansson and Nicole Kosta. Morgan Fritz-Ward scored her first goal of the season while Meghan Turner and Emma Woods also added goals in the dominating victory.
National Polls
For the first time in program history, the Bobcats were ranked No. 4 in back-to-back weeks in the USCHO.com Division I Women's Poll. The Bobcats are the highest ranked women's ECAC Hockey team, ahead of No. 5 Clarkson and No. 7 Harvard. The Bobcats also were ranked No. 4 for the second consecutive week in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine. Ranked behind Quinnipiac was Clarkson at No. 6 and Harvard at No. 7.
Two by Two
Erica Uden Johansson and Nicole Kosta each scored a goal and added an assist for two points on the game to lead Quinnipiac in the victory. Friday was Kosta's fourth two-point game of the season while Uden Johansson tallied her third multi-point game of the year. Neither had a multi-point game since Nov. 15 against Union when Kosta had two points on a goal and an assist while Uden Johansson had two goals and one assist for three points in that game.
Another First
Senior Morgan Fritz-Ward scored at a crucial moment against the Bulldogs as she scored her first goal of the season after starting off with six assists. Fritz-Ward was also credited with the game-winning goal in the 5-2 win. She now stands with 13 goals and 17 assists for 30 points in her Quinnipiac career.
Em-azing
Emma Woods continued her hot streak as she scored her fourth goal in the last five games, and fifth in the last seven. Woods' performance has boosted her into second on the team in goals with six, as well as 49th in the country in goals per game with a 0.43 average as she continues to power the Bobcats.
ECAC Goaltender of the Week
Chelsea Laden was honored on Tuesday by ECAC Hockey as the Women's Goaltender of the Week for the second time this season. Laden shut out the No. 5 Clarkson Golden Knights in a 1-0 win on Friday, Nov. 21 before tying St. Lawrence, 2-2, the next day. Laden finished the weekend with 32 saves, including 15 in the shutout. At the time, it was her seventh shutout of the season. Laden was one of just two goaltenders in the league that did not record a loss with at least two games played in the week.
Celebrity Status
Chelsea Laden was featured in the "Faces in the Crowd" section of the most recent issue of Sports Illustrated magazine to honor her accomplishments through the first two months of the season. Laden was in the Nov. 24, 2014 issue of the magazine where it highlighted her impressive performance throughout the beginning of the season as she leads the nation in GAA (0.41), save percentage (.968) and shutouts (8).
50 Shades of Goals
Tuesday brought about a big accomplishment for Shiann Darkangelo as she netted her 50th career goal against the Princeton Tigers with her game-winning goal in the 2-0 win. Darkangelo has scored 27 goals for Quinnipiac since transferring from Syracuse prior to her junior season. Darkangelo sits at 87 career points with 100 career points on the horizon.
"Lades" of Glory
After her eighth shutout of the season, Chelsea Laden tied her career-best for shutouts in a season. Eight shutouts is good for second in Quinnipiac women's ice hockey program history, just behind Victoria Vigilanti's program record of nine set in 2010-11. Laden came into the season with just nine shutouts in her career to give her 17 career shutouts following Tuesday's 2-0 win over Princeton.
Cyd the Kid
Defenseman Cydney Roesler leads the Quinnipiac defense in goal-scoring as she tallied her fourth goal of the season against Princeton on Tuesday. Not only is she first on the team, but is tied with Savannah Harmon of Clarkson for the most goals by a defenseman in the conference. Roesler is also in a five-way tie for third in the country with her four goals, trailing Minnesota's Milica McMillan with seven and Boston College's Lexi Bender with five.
Streaking
Quinnipiac's unbeaten streak lives to see another day as it extends to 14 games after a 5-2 win over Yale on Friday. The Bobcats are 12-0-2 to start the season, and its 14 game unbeaten streak is the second longest such streak in the nation, trailing Boston College who has a 16 game unbeaten streak.
