Meg Collins enters her first season as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Quinnipiac in June 2021. Collins originally started at Quinnipiac in January 2021 as a strength and conditioning assistant before earning her promotion in June.
Collins is responsible for developing and track the athletic performance for field hockey, women’s golf, women’s track and field, men’s and women’s cross country and men’s and women’s tennis. She also has spearheaded the strength and conditioning department’s social media initiatives.
Prior to arriving at Quinnipiac, Collins spent five months as a strength and conditioning coach intern at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She assisted in developing athletic performance of all student-athletes as well as collecting and analyzing data.
Collins spent one year as a graduate fellow and strength and conditioning coach at Merrimack College during the 2019-20 school year. She worked primarily with women’s soccer, men’s tennis and throwers and assisted with women’s basketball, men’s lacrosse and football.
She also assisted in mentoring the interns through an extensive and comprehensive coach and development curriculum and assisted in the development of the graduate fellowship manual.
Collins spent her senior season at Trinity College as a strength and conditioning coach intern. She worked directly with the head coach and was responsible for first year, injury and modified programs as well as assisting with delivering training programs for all varsity teams.
During her time at Trinity, Collins also spent time at Mike Boyle’s Strength and Conditioning first as a sport performance coach intern and then a sport performance coach.
As a student-athlete, Collins was a four-year letterwinner at Trinity with the women’s basketball team. She was a two-year captain and 2018 recipient of the Robin L. Sheppard Award, which is award to a student-athlete who embodies integrity, heart and willingness to sacrifice self for team.
Collins was also an NSCA All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year Award winner in 2019 and spent time as the SAAC Female Chair, Sports Communication Liaison and Social Media Director from 2017-19.
Collins graduate from Trinity College in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and complete her Masters of Exercise and Sport Science from Merrimack in May 2020.
