- Combined with Bonne Pisciotta, Leah Pfrommer and Jessica Lee to claim the 2017 MAAC 4x100m relay title, clocking in at 47.51 seconds (third-fastest time in program history)
- Ran the third-fastest 100m time in program history at 12.29 seconds, placing third overall at the Wolfie Invitational (4/22)
- Also ran the third-fastest 200m time in program history at 24.88 seconds, earning fourth place at the UMass Minuteman Invitational (4/15)
- Picked up her first career title, combining with Bonnie Pisciotta, Leah Pfrommer and Jessica Lee, to win the UMass Minuteman Invitational 4x100m relay with a time of 47.52 seconds
- Added a sixth place finish in the 100m at the UMass Minuteman Invitational (4/15) as she clocked in at 12.39 seconds
- Helped lead the Bobcats to second place in the 4x100m relay at the Wolfie Invitational (4/22) with a time of 47.57 seconds
- Later added a pair of third place results in both the 100m (12.29) and 200m (25.07) at the Wolfie Invitational (4/22)
- Placed fourth overall in the 100m at the Yale Springtime Invitational (4/30) with a time of 12.44 seconds

- Dominated in her first appearance at the MAAC Championships (5/7) as she helped the Bobcats win the 4x100m relay while also placing third in the 200m and ninth in the 100m
- Scored her first MAAC gold medal as she combined with three others to help the Bobcats claim their second straight 4x100m relay title with a time of 47.34
- Earned a third place result in the 100m at the MAAC Championships with a time of 25.33 while she also placed ninth in the 200m with a time of 12.56
- Helped the Bobcats place sixth in the 4x100m relay (Samuels, Simons, Jacque, Pisciotta) at the ECAC Championships (5/15) which stands as the highest finish in a relay event at the ECAC’s in program history
- Placed ninth in the 100m at the George Mason Spring Invitational (4/9) with a time of 26.75
- Picked up a 4x100m relay team victory (Simons, Jacque, Pfrommer, Pisciotta) at the UMass Minuteman Invitational (4/16) as she combined to cross the line in 48.28
- Also earned a fifth place finish in the 200m (26.69) and sixth place in the 100m (12.38) at the UMass Minuteman Invitational
- Combined to place second in the 4x100m relay (Simons, Samuels, Jacque, Lee) with a time of 47.84 at the Wolfie Invitational (4/23)
- Placed seventh in the 200m (25.98) and ninth in the 100m (12.56) at the Wolfie Invitational
- Earned her second career victory, combining to take the 4x100m relay victory (Simons, Jacque, Samuels, Lee) at the Yale Springtime Invitational (5/1) with a time of 47.59
- Finished in ninth place at the 100m, crossing the line in 13.16 at the Yale Springtime Invitational
BEFORE QUINNIPIAC:
- Starred locally in Connecticut at New London High School
- Was one of CT's premier sprinters all throughout high school, never finishing outside the Top 5 overall in all appearances in the 55m dash and 300m
- All-New England sprinter for the indoor and outdoor season
- Swept all three sprint events at the CT Class M state championship in the 100m, 200m and 400m in her junior season
- High School career-bests: 55m (7.44), 100m (12.74), 200m Indoor (27.08) Outdoor (25.78), 300m (41.2), 400m (57.83), 600m (1:41.4)
PERSONAL:
- Born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti
- Daughter of Mosta Nelson and Jean Jacque
- Has two older siblings, Francky and Carine
- Speaks English and French Creole
- Entered the United States starting in her high school years
- Skipped two grades previously growing up in Haiti
- Came to the USA with her sister Carine to live with their father following a life-altering earthquake in 2010 that destroyed the family home in a section of Port-au-Prince, Haiti
- After remaining in Haiti for over a year after Francine first came to America, her mother Mosta and brother Francky have successfully received visas and allowed access to enter into the country
- Following the earthquake, which struck on Jan. 12, 2010, when Francine was just 12, she and her immediate family went to live with relatives about five hours away
- It took them days to get there, sometimes walking, part of the time spent on overcrowded buses
- Their own house collapsed in the earthquake, which registered a 7.0 on a Richter scale and killed nearly a quarter of a million people
