Dave Bartolotta Jr. enters his fourth season as a part of Quinnipiac’s athletic training staff on a full-time basis. He will work primarily with the men’s soccer and men’s lacrosse programs.
A familiar face to the athletic department at Quinnipiac, Bartolotta Jr. served as a graduate athletic trainer for three seasons (2013-16) as he worked primarily with volleyball (2015-16), women’s rugby (2013), acrobatics and tumbling (2012-15) and the cross country and track & field (2015-16) programs in that three-year span. He also assisted with women’s soccer, men’s soccer, field hockey and men’s lacrosse in his time as a graduate assistant and intern at Quinnipiac.
While an undergrad at CCSU, Bartolotta Jr. earned a great deal of experience working with the Blue Devils’ football program for two seasons (2010-12). With the football team at CCSU, he accessed on-field injuries, performed sideline evaluations, mentored underclassmen, documented through the use of SOAP notes and daily treatment logs and communicated daily with the coaching staff about the statuses of student-athletes.
His time at CCSU was spent with many other programs as he also worked with women’s volleyball (2010), women’s lacrosse (2011), baseball and softball (2011) and men’s and women’s basketball (2010-11). In his senior year, he was the primary student trainer for all fall and winter sports at Berlin High School.
An avoid participant in extracurricular activities at CCSU, Bartolotta Jr. was a member of the Athletic Training Club at CCSU from 2009-12 where he served as vice president for 2011-12. He also participated in Relay for Life efforts, Walk for Thought and March of Dimes as an undergrad. Outside of campus, he participated in the CT High School Men’s State Tournament, was an assistant coach at Haddam Killingworth Pee-Wee football in 2009 and volunteered at the Eric Mangini Football Camp from 2011-13.
He currently holds six certifications including EMT-B, CPR, First Aid, ATC, Graston Technique: M1 and LAT (CT) and has participated in three symposiums: CATA (2010-12), NATA (2014) and EATA (2011-12).
A native of Higganum, Connecticut, Bartolotta Jr. graduated from Central Connecticut State University in the winter of 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training. He has since gone on to earn an MBA in healthcare management from Quinnipiac in May 2016, where he was a two-time Dean’s List recipient.
