Bobcats Claim Back-to-Back MAAC Titles

PRINCETON, NJ – No. 1 Quinnipiac women's tennis captured the 2026 MAAC Women's Tennis Championship on Sunday afternoon at the Princeton University Racquet and Fieldhouse, defeating No. 2 Mount St. Mary's 4-0. The victory marks Quinnipiac's second straight MAAC title and ninth overall, including four championships in the last five seasons.
The Bobcats took an early 1-0 lead by securing the doubles point. The No. 2 duo of Vera Sekerina and Anagha Shankar earned a 6-3 win, followed by a 6-4 victory from Caitlin Flower and Willow Renton at No. 1 to clinch the opening point.
In singles play, Quinnipiac claimed three matches in the middle of the lineup to seal the championship. Shankar extended the lead with a straight-sets win at No. 4 singles 6-4, 6-2. Isabella Baker followed with another straight-sets victory at No. 3, 6-3, 6-2 putting the Bobcats one point away.
Sekerina clinched the title at No. 5 singles, defeating Isabella Pescatore 6-1, 7-5 to secure the championship for Quinnipiac.
With the win, the Bobcats improved to 18-6 overall and completed a perfect 10-0 record in MAAC play for the second consecutive season.
Sekerina was named as the 2026 MAAC Championship Most Outstanding Performer after a 4-0 weekend.

- The Bobcats extended their win streak to 13 matches, and have won 21 straight MAAC matches between regular and postseason dating back to the 2024-2025 season.
