
Quinnipiac Drops Regular-Season Finale vs. SHU

The Bobcats finish up the regular season with a 21-19 overall record. Quinnipiac went 16-12 during MAAC play, earning a spot in the upcoming 2026 MAAC Softball Championship which will be hosted by Marist in Poughkeepsie, New York.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Sacred Heart plated five runs via five hits in the top half of the first inning to take the early lead.
The Bobcats would battle back, however. Natalia Apatiga doubled to left-center in the second inning to plate Ally Hochstadter for QU's first run of the day.

Apatiga then drove in two more runs in the third inning, with Hochstadter and Demott scoring to make it a 5-3 contest.
Sofia Vega doubled in another run in the fourth inning of play, making it a one-run contest.

Kennedy Demott tripled down the fight field line in the sixth inning to tie the game 5-5.

Sacred Heart then scored three runs in the top half of the seventh inning, earning the road victory on the final day of regular season action.

SENIOR DAY
The Bobcats honored their seven-member senior class following the conclusion of the game. Noelle Reid, Mary Fogg, Sofia Vega, Mac Davis, Ally Hochstadter, Natalia Apatiga and Kennedy DeMott were all celebrated during the ceremony.

STATS & NOTES
- Natalia Apatiga drove in three runs to raise her season RBI total to 20. It marks her second three-RBI game of the year.
- Kennedy DeMott raised her season RBI total to 37 – which leads all Bobcats.
- Mary Fogg and Sofia Vega each turned in a two-hit performance for QU.
- Shannon Kendall tossed all seven inning for Quinnipiac, facing 31 total batters. She finishes the regular season with an ERA of 4.42.
