Bobcats Drop Game Two, Series to Niagara

Hamden, Conn. – The Quinnipiac Bobcats fell to the Niagara Purple Eagles, 4-3, on Friday afternoon in Hamden to drop their third MAAC series of the year. With the loss, the Bobcats fell to 12-16 overall and 5-6 in MAAC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Rees Kozar and the Purple Eagles got on the board first in the opening inning as Kozar tripled to right-center, scoring Jacob Brooks.
Quinnipiac answered in the bottom of the second inning as Cole Constable flew out to center field, scoring Alex Irizarry from third.
Kozar was responsible for Niagara's second run of the game, scoring Elijha Hammill on a groundout to third base in the third inning.
The Bobcats got the equalizer in the bottom of the fourth. Alex Irizarry scored his second run of the game as he came home on a Chase Camac groundout.
In the next inning, Christian Smith gave the Bobcats their first run of the afternoon as he launched a long home run over the left field fence.
Curtis McKay knotted the game up at three for the Purple Eagles in the sixth inning as he launched a solo home run to left.
In the eighth inning, it was McKay once again, hitting his second solo home run of the contest, putting the Purple Eagles back in front.
Quinnipiac was held off the scoreboard for the final two innings as Niagara took the game, 4-3, to earn the series win.
