
Paula Miller, Willow Renton Lead Bobcats with Major MAAC Awards

EDISON, NJ – Quinnipiac Women's Tennis sophomore Willow Renton has been named back-to-back MAAC Player of the Year, as announced by the league office on Thursday, April 23. Along with Renton winning a major award, Head Coach Paula Miller was named MAAC Head Coach of the Year after leading the Bobcats to their 11th regular season MAAC title, and back-to-back undefeated regular seasons.
The Bobcats totaled six All-MAAC selections, including two in both singles and doubles. In addition to unanimously winning Player of the Year, Willow Renton was a unanimous First Team All-MAAC selection in singles and First Team All-MAAC doubles with her partner Caitlin Flower. Isabella Baker joined Renton in First Team singles, going 7-1 in her first year as a Bobcat. Flower and Vera Sekerina were named to the All-MAAC Second Team Singles while Caroline Schulson and Isabella Sicignano got All-MAAC Second Team Doubles honors.
Willow Renton - Unanimous MAAC Player of the Year & First Team Singles: Renton continues to make a positive impact for the Bobcats, going 8-0 at the No. 1 singles spot. Seven of those wins came in straight sets. Against Sacred Heart's Bartyzel in the MAAC opener, Renton came back from a set down to dominantly win the next two with a score of 6-7 (7-5), 6-2, 10-3. The sophomore from Goshen, Ky. earned six MAAC Player of the Week honors this season, as she also posted a 7-0 record at No. 1 doubles with partner Caitlin Flower.
Paula Miller - MAAC Coach of the Year: Miller led QU to their 11th regular season title, posting their 10th perfect MAAC regular season in that time. Miller now holds a record of 73-2 in MAAC regular season play in her time at the helm.
Miller has been named MAAC Coach of the Year eight times prior (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2025). She has led Quinnipiac to eight MAAC Tournament titles and eight NCAA Tournament appearances (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022, 2023, 2025).
Isabella Baker - First Team Singles: Baker won six matches in straight sets between No. 2 and No. 3 singles to finish 7-1.
Caitlin Flower - Second Team Singles: Flower earned her third consecutive All-MAAC Singles honor after posting a 6-2 MAAC record at No. 2 and No. 3 singles.
Vera Sekerina - Second Team Singles: Sekerina joins Flower in earning her third All-MAAC Singles award, recording a 6-0 MAAC record and winning each in straight sets.
Willow Renton / Caitlin Flower - First Team Doubles: In their second year as a doubles pair, the duo picked up seven wins with one unfinished match in the MAAC at No. 1 doubles. Renton and Flower have totaled 15 doubles wins between their two seasons.
Caroline Schulson / Isabella Sicignano - Second Team Doubles: The No. 3 doubles pairing won three MAAC matches this spring.
The Bobcats also placed a conference-high eight on the MAAC All-Academic Team. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. Those student-athletes are:

QU enters the MAAC Championship this weekend with a perfect conference record while going 16-6 overall to earn the top seed in the upcoming tournament. The Bobcats are set to play No. 4 seed Fairfield on Friday, April 24th at 10:00 AM at Princeton University in Princeton, N.J.
