Quinnipiac Flies Past Iona to Earn Second Straight MAAC Win

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse program blitzed past Iona on Wednesday afternoon, scoring nine goals in a row to close the first quarter en route to an 18-5 victory over the Gaels in New Rochelle.
Cate Bendowski and Mia Delmond both potted first-quarter hat tricks en route to the victory, as Bendowski put together a seven-point outing with Delmond adding four goals.
Quinnipiac was able to keep its distance in the second, extending the lead and starting the running clock in the second quarter as the Bobcats took a 14-3 lead into the half.
Graham Straface and Hannah West found the net late, as Quinnipiac never let its advantage get below ten for the entirety of the second half.

The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse program finishes its two-game road swing against Merrimack on Saturday, with first draw slated for Noon in North Andover, Mass.

- Bendowski's seven points are a new collegiate-best, as she finished with five goals and two assists. She currently sits with 53 points on the year, inside the Top 20 in program history.
- Delmond now sits with 128 career goals, the third-most goals in Quinnipiac program history behind Kyra Ochwat and Marissa Caroleo. Her 158 points place her eighth on the team leaderboard.
- Quinnipiac's 18 goals are a new season-best, the highest since the team put up 19 against Canisius on April 16.
- Megan Felker recorded her second, multi-point outing of her career and first of the 2026 campaign.
- The Bobcats snapped a two-game losing streak to Iona, earning their first win over the Gaels since 2023.
