
Provenzano, Hot Start Keys Bobcats' Victory over New Haven

HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team flew out to a hot start and held off local foe New Haven on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Chargers by a 16-6 final at the Quinnipiac Lacrosse Stadium.
Quinnipiac flew out of the gates, holding New Haven scoreless for the first 20:48 and building a 5-1 lead. Julia Givens scored her two goals on the day at the 13:01 mark and 9:21 mark of the quarter.
The Bobcats ripped off another five-goal run after New Haven got on the board, building a 10-1 lead at the halfway point of the third.
New Haven came back with three in a row to cut the deficit to four but the Bobcats started the running clock in the fourth quarter, scoring five in a row to build the lead to 11.

The Bobcats heads south for a pair of games in the Carolina region, taking on Gardner Webb on Friday night before taking on Furman on Sunday afternoon.

- Bendowski now has 15 points over her last three outings, finishing with a goal and three assists.
- Provenzano had a collegiate-best five points on the day. She had nine points this week, with six goals and three assists.
- Miller-Ayala now has hat tricks in back to back contests and three of her last four outings. She has a total of 11 goals and 16 points on the season.
- Kendall Lee matched her career high with three points on the day, finishing with a pair of goals and an assist.
- Mia Delmond added her first hat trick of the campaign and has nine goals on the season. She now has 109 for her career.
- Sophia Coan finished with seven draw controls, and she now has 129 for her career.
- The 23 points recorded as a team are a new season-high.
