HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac softball team completed its second MAAC sweep of the season with a 3-1 victory over Niagara on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first inning, Ally Hochstadter sparked the offense with a leadoff walk in the second. Riley Potter followed with Quinnipiac's first hit before Aryn Bombery broke the game open with a three-run homer, the sophomore's second career home run.

The Bobcats' defense took over from there, holding Niagara to just one run on a wild pitch in the top of the seventh.

Shannon Kendall earned her ninth win of the season, tossing her seventh complete game. Kendall allowed just one run on three hits and struck out two.

Natalia Apatiga, Riley Potter, Aryn Bombery, and Noelle Reid each recorded a hit.
Potter recorded her fifth multi-hit game, going 2-for-2 at the plate with a double.
Aryn Bombery hit her second career home run, recording all three RBI.
Shannon Kendall earned her ninth career win with a career-high 16 appearances so far this season.

Weekend Highlights

Kennedy Demott went 4-for-9 (0.444) with a career-high 10 RBI weekend.
Demott recorded two three-run home runs, a double, and two runs scored.
Noelle Reid recorded a hit in each game, posting a 0.750 BA, 3 RBI, while scoring four runs across the series.
Mary Fogg went 4-for-9 (0.444) with 2 RBI and two runs scored.
Riley Potter went 5-for-8 (0.625) with two doubles and 2 RBI.
Potter recorded back-to-back multi-hit games.
Kinsley Cox went 3-for-9 with two doubles and two runs scored.
Sofia Vega went 4-for-10 with a double and two runs scored.
Vega continues to lead the Bobcats with a 0.417 BA and 1.012 OPS.
Shannon Kendall earned two wins with two complete games. Kendall allowed seven runs off 16 hits and recorded seven strikeouts.
Laney Adie picked up her third career win in game two, tossing her second complete game in a run-rule victory. Adie allowed four runs off seven hits, striking out three.

UP NEXT
The Bobcats remain home for MAAC play, hosting Merrimack in a midweek doubleheader before traveling to Rider for a three-game series from March 28-29.
