Providence, Rhode Island – The Quinnipiac baseball program dropped its non-conference, midweek contest to the Brown Bears, 4-1. With the loss, the Bobcats fell to 4-9 early in the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bobcats saw four straight batters reach base safely to start the game, and Kyle Garbowski got Quinnipiac on the board with an RBI single to right field.

The game would remain 1-0 Bobcats until the Bears tied it up in the fifth inning from a sacrifice fly to right field.

In the bottom half of the seventh inning, the Brown Bears struck for three runs to give them a 4-1 lead.

The Bobcats were held off the board after Brown took the lead as the Bears won the non-conference matchup on Tuesday.

NEWS AND NOTES

Kyle Garbowski recorded the only hit for the Bobcats in the game with his first-inning single.
Garbowski leads the team with eleven RBIs this year.
Jacob Belecky got the nod to start on the bump and went 3.0 innings, striking out three and allowing just two hits. Belecky only allowed two base runners in his three innings of work.
Mike Poncini and J.C. Franconere both pitched a scoreless inning in relief.
