Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team dropped their match on Saturday to the Invitational hosts, Temple, in four sets to fall to 1-1 on the weekend.

Quinnipiac got off to a hot start, going on a 15-12 run to open the match. Elena Giacomini and Leilani-kai Giusta led the Bobcats with three kills each in that span. Out of the media timeout, the Bobcats and Owls traded points, and QU held an 18-15 lead, forcing a Temple timeout. Temple closed out the set on a 10-3 run to seal the set one victory over the Bobcats.

The second set started in Temple's favor as they started on a 12-10 run to force a Bobcat timeout. A 7-4 run from the Bobcats put them in the lead, 17-16, forcing a Temple timeout. Quinnipiac scored three of the next four points to force Temple's final timeout of the set. Out of the break, the Bobcats scored five of the next seven points to take the second set, 25-20.

The Bobcats were forced to take an early timeout as Temple took a 12-7 lead in the third set. The two sides traded points out of the Quinnipiac timeout, but the Owls still led 23-17. After QU's final timeout of the set, the Owls scored two straight points to take the third set.

The fourth set started with the two teams trading points, but Temple held a one-point lead at the media timeout. Out of the break, the Bobcats went on a 5-4 run to knot the score up at 19. Back-to-back points from Temple forced a timeout from the Bobcats. The Owls would close out the set with a 25-20 set four victory to close out the match.

Elena Giacomini led the Bobcats with 19 kills in the win. Giacomini also recorded 13 digs, one service ace, one assist, and one total block.
Giacomini recorded a double-double, her seventh one of the season and 26^th of her career at Quinnipiac.
Giacomini has led the Bobcats in kills in ten of the eleven contests so far this season.
Yagmur Gunes and Leilani-kai Giusta reached double-digit kills, recording 12 and 11, respectively.
Damla Gunes led the team with 47 assists, and four other Bobcats recorded at least one assist.
Carola Negron Diaz and Elena Giacomini led the team with 13 digs each. Giusta and Gunes also recorded double-digit digs in the match.
Seven different Bobcats recorded at least one kill in the loss.
Temple recorded 14.0 total blocks, while the Bobcats recorded 7.0 total blocks.
